*relocate TV on other wall, now installed on a wall mounted kit, to free up the floor
*install colorful curtain going down to the floor, which add height to the room (visually)

Basement seeking therapy:
*remove brown carpet and install new laminate or vinyl click plank floor
*move couch on the other wall
*add wall art, cushions on the couch and decorative carpet, contrasting with the other elements
*for best result : spray paint existing gold strip fireplace using a BBQ black matte finish paint (heat resistant) and gently sand on it first to help paint to stick on the surface
*TV can not be installed above wood fireplace because of the heat ( a gas model still release heat but less) in that case, a heat reflector is needed !!
